This role functions within the Bloomington Hospital. Outpatient Recovery Unit (ORU) consists of 12 beds and operates Monday-Friday, 24 hours a day. Our patients are primarily surgical that need extended observation after surgery and overnight stay with morning discharge. When the unit is full, we have 12 patients with 3:1 RN staffing. ORU nights will provide PACU support when needed. In this role, you will train on days in our pre/post area and cross train to PACU.
The training schedule for this role is 2hr shifts. You will not work weekends and will not be on call. During orientation, you will work all shifts. Following the move to the Regional Academic Health Center, the RN in this role will works nights, 6p-6a.

• Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Requires current state of Indiana license as Registered Nurse.
• Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
• Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA. Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
