Semiconductor Engineer/Scientist, Senior

The Challenge:

Are you interested in conducting semiconductor analysis and reverse engineering in specialized laboratories? What if you could work in a state-of-the-art environment surrounded by a rural landscape? We’re looking for a semiconductor engineer/scientist who enjoys coming up with new ways to use their analytical skills and engineering experience to discover how various architectures are embedded in semiconductor material.

As a semiconductor engineer/scientist on our team, you’ll work with engineers, physicists, and material scientists to reverse engineer and prototype with ASIC or FPGA technologies. You'll perform in depth analyses to find answers to questions like “what does this integrated circuit do?”. Our laboratory has the advanced equipment you’ll need, including an electron scanning microscope, laser microscopes, spectrum analyzers, and high speed-high volume data acquisition systems. You’ll also have opportunities to expand your skills in other technical areas including machine learning and artificial intelligence as you look for alternate means to analyze semiconductor materials to support technology-protection efforts. You Have:

-2+ years of experience with semiconductor technologies, gate structures, or IC or ASIC design

-2+ years of experience with programming and scripting languages on both Windows and Linux platforms

-2+ years of experience with analysis and development software, including MATLAB and LabView

-Knowledge of how gates, registers, memory, and complex electronic logic functions are formed in semiconductor materials

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-BA or BS degree in EE, including an IC design or semiconductor focus, Metallurgical Engineering, including a silicon or semiconductor focus, Physics, including a semiconductor focus, or CS, including a hardware focus and 5+ years of experience with analysis or engineering or MA or MS degree in EE, including an IC design or semiconductor focus, Metallurgical Engineering, including a silicon or semiconductor focus, Physics, including a semiconductor focus, or CS, including a hardware focus and 3+ years of experience with analysis or engineering

Nice If You Have:

-2+ years of experience with system design, integration, and prototyping

-1+ years of experience with computational electromagnetics solution methods, including MoM, PO or GO, UTD or GTD, and FTDT

-Experience with automated test equipment configuration

-Experience with circuit design, PCB design, debugging, and testing

-Experience with using EM methods for performing reverse engineering

-Experience with programming, debugging, and testing in Python, C++, assembly, or Perl

-Experience with Verilog or VHDL

-Experience with electrical component failure analysis

-Experience with device communications protocols, including RS232, SPI, PCI, I2C, USB, JTAG, and Ethernet

-Knowledge of high speed, high resolution data acquisition systems set-up and configuration

-Secret clearance
