The primary responsibility of the CAD Designer is to handle day to day CAD and Solid Modeling work including:
Reviewing work orders and procedural manuals to determine critical dimensions of designs
Calculating figures to convert design dimensions to modify dimensions specified for subsequent production processes
Maintaining and updating files relating to specified design project database library
Retrieving design information from project database libraries
Conferring with engineering and design staff to determine design modifications, making changes using CAD and saving information in project database libraries
Entering specified information into CAD systems and peripheral equipment to produce graphic representation (hard copy) of design for review and approval by engineering and design staff
Create, update and maintain bills of materials in ERP system
Other tasks or duties as assigned
Position requires an Associates’ Degree in Computer Aided Design, Engineering Technology or a comparable discipline and 2 years of experience in performing same or similar job function; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Position requirements include proficiency in Solid Modeling/CAD (such as Autodesk Inventor, Vault, and/or SolidWorks), engineering changes, and design for manufacture and assembly experience. Familiarity with manufacturing processes including casting, stamping, machining, and forging preferred. Must be detail oriented, mechanically inclined, and a team player.
