Description and Responsibilities

The Accounting/Administrative Assistant is located in Evansville, IN, and reports into the Plant Controller. This is a plant within our Meat division and has around 130 employees, union facility and runs 24/7. The general responsibilities include:

  • Receptionist – Answer phones and greet visitors

  • Accounts Payable – Monitor DFM cases, enter purchase orders and goods received notes in IPO system. Follow up with vendor on issues. Reconcile corporate consolidated invoices.

  • Inventory – Reconcile and key production and usage for manufacturing orders. Assist inventory control staff as needed.

  • Payroll – Process payroll on Mondays. Complete labor report, garnishments and union dues. Sort and distribute checks weekly.

  • Order office supplies, filing and other general clerical duties.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma required, Associate's degree a plus

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in an accounting/administrative position

  • Demonstrated success multi-tasking and managing competing priorities in a fast paced environment

  • Proven ability to work independently

  • Attention to detail, critical thinking skills and process improvement identification

  • Manufacturing industry or food industry experience preferred
