Beitzel Corporation Field Technician - Evansville, IN in Evansville, Indiana
Pillar is currently on the lookout for a full-time Field Technician to join our Evansville, IN team. This individual will provide a varied skill set for the installation, testing, servicing, repairing and maintenance of electrical and controls hardware, fiber optic cable, fire suppression systems, and other services as applicable for mining surface and underground facilities as well as for the commercial and industrial industries.
This position will require a flexible schedule that may include extended hours, weekends, holidays and evenings. The Field Technician will report directly to the Project Manager and will work primarily out of the Evansville location.
Assist with the installation of electrical and controls hardware, fiber optic cable, fire suppression systems, and any other applicable services provided by the Evansville Division
Assist other divisions as/when needed for various services, which could include extensive travel
Read and interpret blue prints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, schematics and operational product manuals
Prepare associated paperwork and forms for customer service and project activities in a timely manner as required
Communicate with Project Managers and Project Engineers for daily duties
Follow proper safety and incident reporting procedures
Ensure proper communication to the Project Manager on all pertinent issues
Listen and respond immediately with an appropriate amount of concern to customer and employee issues. Analyze, solve and correct customer issues

Technical/mechanical knowledge and abilities. Electrical and fiber optic knowledge is a plus.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and schematics.
Must be willing to attend training and remain updated with regard to industry standards and requirements.
MSHA 40-hour underground training required.
Ability to work underground for extended periods of time.
Underground mining experience is a plus but not required.
Able to work a flexible schedule and adjust to changing business needs to include possible work involving emergency call-out, extended hours and some out-of-town and overnight work

Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
Perform duties on-site and underground at industrial locations
Wear safety equipment: as per OSHA/MSHA requirements including but not limited steel toed and/or metatarsal shoes, hard hat, lanyard, fire retardant, protective eye wear, etc.
Be safety and customer-focused, without exception
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
Must possess a valid and appropriate state driver’s license prior to employment
This position requires the completion of a thorough background and pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
