NiSource Intern Engineering NIPSCO in Fort Wayne, Indiana

Ensure safe and reliable delivery of energy at the best cost to NiSource customers.

Work Closely with internal and external stakeholders to plan, design, estimate and manage pipeline projects according to company standards, sound engineering practices and applicable codes. This may include the following: preparing high quality detailed design drawings, acquiring permits and easements, generating material estimates and preparing all other applicable documents required for gas pipeline project completion.

Provide technical assistance and emergency support for Construction Services, Systems Operations and Field Operations involved in the construction, operation and maintenance of distribution facailities. Collaborate and coordinate with key stakeholders on large scale projects.

Required for Selection:

Perform assigned duties in a safe and efficient manner while adhering to all safety requirements.

Ability to work 40 hours per week during the summer and 20 hours per week during the school year

Computer proficiency in MS Office (Excel and Word) and AutoCAD.

Critical thinking and problem-solving skills

Communication and interpersonal skills

Willingness to learn and remain flexible in various work assignments.

Work effectively in an individual and team environment.

Possess a valid driver#39;s license, have a safe driving record, and reliable transportation throughout the employment

Preferred for Selection:

Prior knowledge of the public utility industry

Strong project management skills and experience

Education requirements:

Current student of an ABET-Accredited, four-year engineering program

Completion of at least one full year of college coursework.
