Position Summary: Project/Support Engineer - Associate for Climate Solutions Group - HVAC Business Unit. Supports the execution of various strategic projects, platform change or multiple smaller projects of lesser complexity. Communicate effectively with all Project Leaders, Electrical Technicians, and Lab Technicians.
Supports general project activities such as; documentation review, procuring components, building and testing prototypes, failure analysis of electronic controls and modifications, request quotes and placing orders, work with outside control assembly houses and coordinate the building of electronic control prototypes, build and ship MVP samples for customers, coordinate requests with Regal model shop to build mechanical prototypes (enclosures, heatsinks, etc.), work with outside contractors on special needs (plumbing refrigerant in HVAC systems, electric wiring, etc.).
Work with engineering and sourcing to add new vendors to the Regal AVL
Maintain an accurate record of spending and reconcile expenditures in the concur system
Practitioner of all Regal safety guidelines.
As a member NPD Organization, this person must be flexible and largely self-managed
The individual should see where there is a need and work within the team to address it
Execute smaller projects of lesser complexity
Conduct periodic reviews and regular pulse updates with project leader and program manager
Ensure the Regal NPD Process and procedures are used and followed.
Customer training ability and desire to learn about applications for Regal products.
Self-directed work ethic.
A broader engineering skill set and hands-on approach is needed.
An Associate Degree in relevant field background (EE, EET, ME, MET).
Basic electrical component knowledge.
Experience reading electrical and mechanical assembly drawings.
Ability to read and develop BOM.
Demonstrate organization skills and working knowledge of new product development or other stage gate based NPD process
Exceptional oral and written communication skills
Individual must be proactive, high energy and have strong problem solving skills
Green belt trained / certified.
Strong problem solver, team player.
Understanding safety critical design practices.
Experience using laboratory prototype building tools (soldering, handling of electronic components, etc.).
Experience using test equipment and measurement tools (oscilloscopes, meters, etc.).
Ability to read and understand a schematic.
Ability to troubleshoot electronic circuits and components.
Experience with AC line operated programmable drives / controls and rotating machines.
Solid works and Altium Designer understanding / experience.
A positive, can-do, whatever-it-takes attitude.
Display of high level of energy and good sense of urgency.
Excellent people skills.
2 years of experience in electronics.
Familiarity with the operation of motors.
Language: Fluency in English is required.
