SummaryPrepare documentation required for customs clearance, Trade Agreements, customer requirements such as North America Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), Country of Origin (COO), American Automotive Labelling Act (AALA) and other agreements as needed.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesGovernment documentation completion with compliance accordanceo Proof export documentation such as commercial invoices and packing listso Complete and declare Assists to Customs as notified by Purchasing Departmento Complete customer requirements such as NAFTA, COO, AALA to appropriate customer portalso Maintain Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT) certification for MTEA Franklino Keep MTEA in compliance with all trade agreements and customs requirementsSupplier Managemento Obtain COO Certificates, AALA documentation, HTS classification, Conflict Minerals from all vendors annually or with new requirements throughout the yearHTS Codingo Determine the HTS coding of new material and part numbero Maintain accuracy of the HTS coding and COO in both JD Edwards and Future3 Sales SystemFreight Costo Analyze and code freight bills for Customs compliance and proper charges (such as duty, MPF, HMF, etc.) for payment.o Quote freight for budget and planning purposes.Support Functionso Support sales and other teams in filling and submitting Compliance Sustainability questionnaires as requestedManagement Supporto Complete monthly management reports as necessary Perform other duties as assigned by MTEA managementJob Requirements Bachelor's Degree 5-7 years' experience in international transportation and documentation requirements Background in the regulations of US Customs compliance Ability to arrange and prepare paperwork necessary for customs clearance Ability to track shipments and communicate with Logistics companies Strong computer skills including QA applications, word processing, spreadsheets and databases. Superior administrative and organizational skills Detail oriented and deadline driven Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) across all internal levels and Global Company sites, including sister plants and business partners, fluent in Japanese a plus Attend Customs related classes as deemed necessary for position Some business travel as needed Must be able to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time throughout the shift. Must be able to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. Must be able to occasionally move up to 35 pounds.
