First National Bank of Omaha Sr. Product Manager in Indiana

This role will be a Sr. leader within a team of Innovation Product Managers. Starting with macro trends and guided by customer interactions, this role will be accountable for taking concepts from ideation & validation to early stage commercialization. The primary mission of the Innovation & Disruption team is to “identify & respond to disruptive threats to banking business models and enable innovation within the bank”. Help the team’s overall objective by striving to achieve an ideal state of innovation (staying competitive) and innovativeness (new way of working) within the broader organization.

Key Accountabilities:

Follow the innovation process to discover, develop and refine ideas into sustainable business model concepts

  • Embrace the desirability/feasibility/viability innovation rules

  • Set goals and use the bank’s innovation guardrails to deliver on potential $100MM+ annual revenue opportunities

Use tools and resources available for idea discovery

  • Use secondary research, in-depth interviews and quantitative surveys to orient the idea into next stage refinement

  • Freedom to pivot or kill ideas based on customer value

Manage idea development

  • Determine what ideas are business models, processes, CX, etc and determine which ones should be further explored

  • Build out industry network contacts, engage fintechs, and test ideas quickly & often to validate working hypothesis

  • Output includes scorecards, idea resumes and experimentation

Own the idea refinement process with a startup mentality

  • Iterate on how to describe your solution; leveraging the customer value and assessing the business value

  • Look for ways to get funding to build out your solution (partner/build/buy)

  • Output includes an investment pitch, articulation of the opportunity and a business recommendation

Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Education:

Required:

  • Product management and product owner skills & experience

  • Experience in a matrix environment with diverse activities, tight timelines and varied special projects

  • Demonstration of supervisory leadership roles or desire to coach and lead a team

  • Enjoys individual accountability as well as teamwork toward common goals

  • Travel 25-50%
