If you enjoy working with your hands, Bricklaying could be for you. Bricklaying requires careful, accurate work by the craftsman. As a bricklayer, your finished product will stand the test of time. As an apprentice you will earn while you learn. You will start off 50% of what a journey worker makes along with receiving benefits (Medical Insurance and Pensions). The more you learn, the higher your pay will increase until you reach journey worker status. You will also receive an associateandrsquo;s degree through Ivy Tech Community College.Evidence from the Bureau of Labor and Statistics states the following andldquo;Employment of masonry workers is projected to grow 15 percent from 2014 to 2024, much faster than the average for all occupations. Population growth will result in the construction of more schools, hospitals, homes, and other buildings.
