The Director Coordination of Benefits Program Management & Governance coordinates, directs and manages operational areas of Finance. Leads and participates in committees and projects that are enterprise-wide in scope. Acts as project sponsor.

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Counsels senior management on enterprise-wide policies and strategies.

  • Represents the company in legal matters and testifies as needed.

  • Develops and implements vision, strategies, and tactics to maximize the department’s effectiveness while minimizing costs.

  • Ensures internal controls are appropriate and develops policies and procedures and ensures compliance with government regulations.

  • Works with other areas for solutions to complex problems and participates in critical interactions with both internal and external customers.

  • Hires, trains, coaches, counsels, and evaluates performance of direct reports.

    Director will oversee the Coordination of Benefits (COB) Program Integrity Program Management & Governance Team.

  • Oversees program governance including expansion of current governance scope across all lines of business

  • Leads the intake, assignment & resolution of internal and external customer inquiries/issues

  • Partners and influences multiple level of leaders in our Health plan, sales/account management and other key operational partnered areas

  • Supports team conducting research to support issue resolution & process improvement

  • Identifies opportunities for small & large scale improvements to align with COB vision, mission and blue chips

  • Provides support and planning for new market implementation & migrations

  • Aligns to team and Anthem culture of diversity, inclusion and accountability

Qualifications

  • Requires 8+ years’ experience with operations, financial reporting and analysis, audit guidelines, budgeting and multi-state operations and processes; experience with complex business environments including multiple entity and highly automated situations; 5 years management experience; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.

  • Experience managing complex programs and projects

  • Experience with process improvement

  • Experience with issue resolution and management

  • Coordination of Benefits experience preferred.

  • Experience preparing and delivering materials to multiple levels of the organization
