The Growth Director is responsible for the active and ongoing development of Medicaid RFP content for new and existing businesses specific to Operations which serves as the foundation for delivering on our Medicaid product offerings. Primary duties include, but are not limited to:
Analyzes market trends, proposes new product/service initiatives, and coordinates with the GBD COO, Business Development, and Product areas to continually update bid content to produce a compelling bid narrative specific to Anthem operational performance, processes, and innovations.
Actively contributes to, and supports, Medicaid bids, and key projects; develops plans and formulates strategies for both new and existing business. Work with Writers to develop responsive and compelling responses to large sections of RFPs, ensuring that responses are not only complete and responsive – but strategic and thoughtful.
Provides research, analysis, and recommendations to key stakeholders on the external environment as part of the bid content development, and in support of strategic planning for the GBD COO and Medicaid business unit.
Analyzes competitor offerings and strategies around Operations, identifying and monitoring changing patterns of competition, and recommending bid approaches to Business Development and P&L leadership.
Works closely with the GBD COO functional leaders to identify and obtain the necessary performance reporting and operational insights/analysis to accomplish the business objectives through information management.
Obtains leadership buy-in and resources (people, funding, information) to support RFP development needs and/or assigned projects, including tracking progress and outcomes of operational changes resulting from changing legislation/regulations, process improvements, and technological innovations.
Influences indirect reports and cross-functional leadership to accomplish growth goals and objectives.
Reports bid and/or project status and progress to GBD COO, Business Development, and other management.
Acts as a liaison to other areas of the organization, as needed.
Requires a BA/BS degree in a related field; 10-15 years of leadership/management experience in health care management, marketing products, and managing significant business results; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. MBA preferred. Previous P&L and/or project management experience in health care setting preferred. Excellent quantitative, marketing, financial, and strategic skills required. Travel may be required.
