The Mental Health Technician is responsible for maintaining the therapeutic environment for patients experiencing emotional dysfunction and requiring behavioral health treatment. Primary responsibilities include maintain a safe environment for patients and staff, assisting with activities of daily living, identifying and intervening in potential crisis situations.
The Mental Health Technician will provide direct supervision of patients. This includes positive interactions with patients and other staff. MHT’s are expected to provide timely and appropriate feedback to patients and staff on behaviors. Individuals in this position are expected to provide de-escalation interventions by utilizing Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI). MHT’s are required to complete patient documentation during their shifts.
Works as an hourly employee in accordance with established policies as outlined in the employee handbook. The employee in this position is expected to provide two week’s notice prior to voluntary resignation. A probationary period of 90 days is required.

Ability to perform cleaning tasks (sweeping, laundry, moping, wiping down counters etc.)
