Indiana University Health Registered Nurse- Pre-Admissions Testing (Relocation Incentives Available!) in Indianapolis, Indiana

The RN is accountable and responsible for the provision and coordination of proficient, evidence-based care, which includes assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The clinical nurse participates in decision-making, teaching, mentoring, and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to advance the patient plan of care, achieve outcomes and improve operational efficiency. The nurse adheres to the ANA Scope and Standards of Professional Nursing and the Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements.

This is a new position which will be part of our latest expansion. This role will focus on optimizing surgical patients prior to their surgery via education and test. In this role, the RN will communicate with the surgical patient and find out exactly what orders need to be written. RN will follow through with those orders and send to labs. RN will teach patient ERAS which stands for “Enhanced recovery after surgery”. RN will provide education on dietary resources to get their patients up to speed for their surgery.

Hours: M-F 9 to 5:30 (8 hours) 5 days per week/or 8-6:30 (10 hours) 4 days per week. No weekends. No Holidays. No on-call.

Experience: At least 1 year of RN experience required.


  • Requires current state of Indiana license as a Registered Nurse.

  • Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA. Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.

  • Requires an Associate of Nursing (ASN); Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred.

  • Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
