General Summary:

The SAP Project Manager position is a full-time member the Project Management team; located in Indianapolis, Indiana. This position’s primary responsibilities include both incident/change management support as well as new development projects mainly in the areas of SD and CRM. This role will also include ongoing training, documentation, and testing key processes associated with new development and support package updates. This position will primarily support facilities in the United States which already have implemented SAP and could periodically assist with Regional projects. Duties require skills, knowledge, and experience in the areas of Continuous Improvement, Process Management, Troubleshooting System issues, Improvement, Measurement, and Project Management.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Act as liaisons between business and IS with the ability to write functional specifications and test the changed process (scripts) as required for system modifications and/or upgrades without impacting other data or processes

  • Responsible for developmental training and system documentation updated within group standards; tailored to specific needs of each business structure

  • Lead training exercises and deployment of the system process with documented processes to align with group standards. Training will include updating users on any changes that have been made and training new hires. Individual must possess the ability to train individuals one-on-one, as well as presenting to a larger classroom

  • Initiate corrective actions using information gathered from customer complaints if process related

  • Responsible for front line support for SAP SD users with process issues, running transactions and identifying the source of a problem and providing the system solutions

  • Act as internal consultant/analyst for business users and facilitate approved changes within the system and business processes when necessary

  • Provide system updates, uploads and maintenance when necessary

  • Lead continuous improvement teams focused on SD & CRM related issues with collaboration and support to other SAP functional areas tied to SD/CRM such as PP, MM, FI, LE, PS and CS modules

  • Provide intercompany support when required to align processes in the standard and ETO business

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to provide a common platform to facilitate communication with technical teams, users and management in a structured and efficient manner

  • Strong knowledge of SAP and the business

  • Highly organized, self-starter that can work with large data content in a calming presence and high degree of patience

  • Ability to make sound decisions when needed

  • Ability to troubleshoot and effective skillset with problem solving

  • Testing expertise and ability to facilitate and train small groups of users effectively

  • Ability to facilitate and train small groups of end users effectively

  • Proficiency working in a team environment

  • Time management and the ability to delegate tasks

  • Established skills within Project Management methodologies

  • Continuous process improvement skills

  • Ability to document processes, functional specifications, etc.

  • Project management skillset to plan, oversee and document all aspects of assigned projects

    Education and Experience:

  • Degree in Communications, Business, Organizational Leadership or similar technical discipline required (or commensurate experience).

  • At least 3-5 years of experience with SAP Sales and Distribution (SD) module in a manufacturing environment.

  • Additional experience within other functional SAP modules such as FI, CRM, PS etc. is desired


  • 10-20% domestic travel required

  • Some International travel may be required
