Our team focuses on providing industry leading Procurement and Supplier Operations, Supplier Programs and Enablement. We are integral in helping the company to scale its buying process to achieve the company vision through efficient and customer focused operations. We work closely with Strategic Sourcing and Accounts Payable as an efficient end to end process. We also work across the company to support Supplier Programs including Supplier Diversity and Sustainable Purchasing, Supplier Risk and Compliance and Supplier Relationship Management.

Position Description

The Senior Manager of Supplier Diversity and Inclusion will work directly with Sourcing and Procurement as well as with the Office of Equality Teams to develop and advance our supplier diversity and inclusion initiatives. This position will work directly with Sourcing Category Managers to develop and execute category-specific strategies in diversity. The Senior Manager of Supplier Diversity and Inclusion will also be the external company representative for liaising with councils and chambers of commerce to conduct supplier outreach and grow the supplier community. The ideal candidate has passion for diversity, strategic sourcing/procurement experience, excellent interpersonal skills, and will have worked directly or indirectly in a Supplier Diversity role. The candidate must be a self-starter, able to work independently and interested in expanding their role as the program matures. Salesforce is a fast-paced environment and we are looking for someone who can hit the ground running to manage multiple responsibilities while producing high-quality work.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and expand the Supplier Diversity Program at Salesforce

  • Manage internal relationships with Diversity program management/Office of Equality and Sourcing Category Leads

  • Develop 5-year strategic category plans with the Sourcing team to set spend growth targets

  • Serve as Salesforce’s ambassador to the supplier community

  • Collaborate with customers in support of their efforts in diversity

  • Establish and track key performance indicators for the program and present progress reports to senior management

  • Manage systems, reporting and tools required for the program

  • Develop and execute training plans for internal business partners to gain and maintain program adoption

  • Collaborate to expand program globally to regions where diversity may require different program plans or approach

  • Assist with on-boarding of diverse suppliers

  • Participate in and organize events that provide outreach to the supplier community and inclusion in Salesforce’s procurement practices

  • Partner with Category Managers and Business Partners in continuing performance management of supplier community

  • Confident in managing and executing projects from start to finish

  • Resourceful with a strong work ethic and are willing to go the extra mile to get work done

  • Self-directed/driven with excellent organizational skills

  • Tech savvy and have a strong interest and proven success in working with technology (including new software tools and systems implementations) and able to learn, set up and champion new and best in class technology

Experience:

  • 8+ years of related experience. Experience with Procurement and Supplier transactions with SaaS, software, Infrastructure, IT, Marketing/Events suppliers and/or working in Tech industry in the Procurement function is highly preferred.

  • 5+ years of experience in Supplier Diversity Program Management

  • Strong knowledge of laws, rules, and regulations that apply to the provisions and limitations of a Supplier Diversity Program

  • A passion for learning and a craving to make a difference!

  • Demonstrated success in working collaboratively across multiple departments within an organization

  • Experience in external, supplier and community facing positions with strong presentation skills

  • Experience influencing and developing programs across departments

  • Polished public speaking skills

  • Strong understanding of sustainability trends across industries

  • Technically proficient or quick learner in Excel, Salesforce, Powerpoint, PM programs, etc.

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management or business administration preferred

  • Previous experience with responsible sourcing, CSR communications or business and human rights

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Exceptional analytic capability

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written)

  • A proven track record of results with a bias for action
