Job Description Summary
Under Broad Oversight, partners with Field Sales, Operations, Claim and Direct to Consumer leadership to manage the overall profitability and growth of automobile and homeowner products for several state assignments. Responsible for formulating and collaborating on local and countrywide strategies in conjunction with regulatory, actuarial, and field partners. Responsible for developing and executing line of business strategies at a countrywide level, while collaborating with field leadership to implement decisions at a regional level. This position manages others.
This position is responsible for the South Central region.
Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities
Leads a technical pricing team to direct the analysis process and make rate and trend selections to meet profitability goals.
Partners with the Field Sales team to develop state profit and growth strategies including product positioning and marketing approach.
Leads Countrywide Product Management initiatives.
Develops the rate revision schedule with the systems integration team and field organization.
Makes fact based strategic decisions based on a knowledge of the market, which includes competitors, regulatory and legal environment, claims handling trend, and distribution channel/agent relationships.
Negotiates rate changes with various channels and formulate business review packages to document the rate changes.
Partner with Personal Insurance internal regulatory/filing unit to respond to the department of insurance for rate filings and market conduct exams and serves as a consultant on consumer complaints and other interactions.
Partner with Field Sales team and travel to states to build expertise on regional strategies.
Develops a comprehensive understanding of competitors and alternative markets within assigned territory.
In conjunction with functional partners, completes financial analysis of territory results and impact on strategy for assigned territory/region; present results to senior management on monthly basis. Also leads team that accomplishes these tasks for their particular territories.
Develops and maintains relationships with state regulators by attending regulatory meetings (i.e., IRES, and SERA), insurance department visits, and participation in industry group meetings.
Analyzes and synthesizes data to determine trends and communicate key profit metrics to Claim, Operations, and distribution channels.
Presents strategic overviews of assigned region to senior management on a frequent basis.
Attracts, develops, motivates and retains critical talent.
Communicate results and priorities effectively to team.

Bachelors degree required.
4 years of experience in data analytics required.
2 years of Profit/Loss management experience required.
4 years managing others required.
Education, Work Experience, & Knowledge
Bachelors degree in business management, mathematics, management information, finance, actuarial science, economics or other analytics related field.
Masters degree preferred.
8 years product management experience preferred.
Comprehensive P&C industry knowledge.
Experience in senior level "general management" functions.
Typically has in depth knowledge/experience in two or more Personal Insurance product lines.
Comprehensive knowledge of Pricing and Actuarial techniques.
