Job Description


ZF is a leading Global supplier of commercial steering components for medium- and heavy-duty vehicles. Our company is respected world-wide for designing and manufacturing original systems, parts and components featured on most major truck and commercial vehicle manufacturers.


  • Regional responsibility for the Daimler Truck North America (DTNA) and PACCAR (PCAR) business for all transmission products and services

  • Lead and development of the business relationship with existing and new customer accounts with focus on key OEM’s DTNA & PCAR.

  • Support and implement long term business strategies to achieve the Business Unit TT short and long-term goals (sales, return on sales, etc.) at existing and new customer accounts with focus on DTNA and PACCAR

  • Initiate and lead end customer / fleet sales campaigns to support OEM product sales with corresponding product demand from the market (pull-through).

  • Development and implement regional sales and marketing strategies for North America for his account

  • Define and realize customer targets according to strategic and operative business planning

  • Customer relationship management and business development

  • Coordination, preparation and execution of customer meetings and events

  • Offer preparation and negotiation of commercial agreements for the Business Unit Truck & Van Driveline Technology (TT) product portfolio


  • Bachelor’s engineering or business administration degree-level degree or equivalent, an MBA degree would be highly desirable. Alternative degree with additional business administration qualification.

  • Ten plus years of experience in sales roles in the Automotive or Transportation industries.

  • Demonstrated experience dealing directly with major Global OEMs. A strong preference will be given to commercial Vehicle/Trucking industry experience.

  • Demonstrated ability building customer relationships and in sales development. He/She will ideally bring personal contacts and a sizeable network of contacts.

  • Proven success achieving profitable growth, ideally including experience in selling similar products with unwavering dedication to selling and winning.

  • Ability to work cross-functionally in a Global organization, managing multiple projects and competing priorities.

  • Able to develop creative solutions to difficult problems.

  • Ability to travel as business needs require.

  • Experience in discrete customer account management and interdisciplinary project management

  • German language experience beneficial

  • Very good analytic abilities, structured and process oriented working method

  • High affinity to comprehensive and conceptional thinking in the realization of product solutions for individual customer needs taking into account financial effects

  • Poise, flexible and able to work under pressure

  • Readiness to frequent domestic traveling (approx. 50% of the time)
