Job Details:Sign on Incentive AvailableScope of Care:Care is provided to patients regardless of age, race, creed, or socioeconomic status. The acuity encompasses the critically ill to minor emergency cases. The Emergency Department maintains disaster preparedness, providing leadership representation on the hospital Disaster Committee and participating in disaster exercises. The scope of the patients seen in the main Emergency Department include, but are not limited to: 1. Acute Trauma: Multiple trauma, spinal cord injuries, head injuries, burns, lacerations, orthopedic injuries, and gunshot wounds.2. Major Medical Illnesses: Acute myocardial disease, stroke, GI bleeding, dehydration, sepsis, pulmonary disease and toxic ingestions.3. Minor Medical Illnesses and Trauma: Urinary tract infections, colds, minor lacerations and sprains.4. Major Surgical Diagnoses: Acute appendicitis, dissecting abdominal aortic aneurysms and intracranial bleeds.5. OB/GYN Emergencies: Deliveries, acute pelvic inflammatory disease, ectopic pregnancies and sexual assaults.6. Psychiatric Crises Intervention. Purpose:The Staff RN is responsible for implementing, directing, communicating and documenting the nursing process and provides a safe environment for patients, visitors and associates. The nurse practices in accordance with current established standards of care, the Nurse Practice Act, the Community Healthcare System policies and procedures, and supports the mission and philosophy of CHS.Education/Experience:Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Current professional licensure by the State of Indiana Health Professions Bureau. BSN desirable. Successful completion of The Community Healthcare System's Personnel and Nursing Orientation Programs. Obtains and maintains current certification (ACLS) as required in specialty areas (Critical Care). Obtains and maintains current CPR certification.
