Description: Designs mechanical and electromechanical products and systems by developing and testing specifications and methods.Essential Responsibilities:Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirementsAssure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and / or tasks consistent with engineering policies and proceduresDocument technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering policies and proceduresConfirms system and product capabilities by designing feasibility and testing methods; testing properties.Develops manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for fabricating, building, assembling, and installing components.Provide technical leadership to personnel supporting the assigned projectsMinimum Qualifications:Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering and two years experience however, the right combination of education and experience may be acceptable.Hands-on experience with computer-aided engineering (CAM) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAE)Familiarity with 2D or 3D engineering design and manufacturingAdequate knowledge of engineering analysis tools Effective use of communication and tact with stakeholders Advanced computer knowledge with MS Office ApplicationsPreferred Qualifications:Masters degree in Engineering or an associated technical field from an accredited institution Knowledge of manufacturing processes, specifically machining practices required in the production of aerospace hardware. Experience leading continuous improvement projects utilizing Six Sigma and/or Lean Manufacturing tools / methodologiesEnvironment: JWS Machine is an aerospace machine shop. The position requires that the individual work with all departments, to stand or sit for long periods of time, and be available to work 40 hours per week. Additional hours may be required to fulfill business needs.Compensation: This is a salaried position.
