In this role, you will lead and be accountable for Inventory of product, packaging materials, and chemicals needs at production location. Responsible for tactical planning of material with off-site vendors and Direct Material Coordinator to meet the assigned tasks as defined by location or corporate goals. Production Planning Coordinator needs to communicate with onsite Lab Coordinators, STO Logistics Coordinator, and Production Supervisors on day-to-day basis for location operational needs. May have additional responsibilities including handling more than one crop line.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize systems such as SAP/R3 as a fundamental basis of performing job.

  • Provide coordination of expedites with customer service, inter-company schedulers, and vendors using systems.

  • Proactively plan to enable orders & services to be delivered on time.

  • Optimize inventory levels of raw materials, finished goods and packaging.

  • Supply information to customer service and inter-company schedulers regarding status of all order fulfillment activities

  • Work closely with production, field, maintenance, quality, and inter-company schedulers to schedule and establish priorities of production POs.

  • Coordinate production runs with inter-company schedulers to optimize network efficiencies and meet network on-time dates for Clockwork, Adaptive, and In-season schedules

  • Develop scheduling metrics and utilize problem solving tools to determine root cause of inefficiencies caused by scheduling

  • Initiate, support, and pursue continuous cost improvements and LEAN events that facilitate reduction in lead times, material movements and inventory.

Qualifications

Requirements:

What expertise have you grown? What do you bring to the table?

  • Minimum of high school diploma/GED - technical degree preferred

  • 3-4 years of Shipping, transportation and logistics experience in a production agriculture or plant operations environment or equivalent production process experience.

  • Finger dexterity for using keyboard.

  • Primarily in a production office setting with regular interaction taking place in a high traffic & activity plant/warehouse areas, plus frequent visits to field and/or off-site locations. High workload with long hours and weekend work during seasonal peaks. Limited Frequent travel within region.

  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Experience within SAP and CCS.

  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, and Excel.

  • Good written and verbal communications

  • Multitasking abillity

  • Basic supply chain and business knowledge. Process requires prompt response when dealing with multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including professional telephone skills.

  • Team building and networking, problem resolution, and customer service skills.

  • Accuracy and high attention to details important.

  • Ability to anticipate and promptly react to trends and communicate associated information up and down supply chain.

  • Willing and able to work overtime, weekends and holidays when needed

  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation
