In our Data and Analytics organization, this involves partnering with business users and IT team members to support data warehouse/lake and BI applications across multiple functions, and to enhance those applications to meet evolving business needs. The role reports to the Data Staff Architect, but is expected to work independently and collaboratively to support and continuously improve various systems and business processes.Principal Duties and ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with business/functional leaders and teams to identify, collect and translate information requirements into data to develop data-centric solutionsImplement industry-accepted data architecture principles and standards for modeling, stored procedures, replication, regulations, and security, among others, to meet technical and business goals.Establish and oversee adherence to standards for modeling and code in various languages to improve and update data-centric solutionsResearch and properly evaluate sources of information to determine possible limitations in reliability or usabilityApply sampling techniques to effectively determine and define ideal categories to be questionedCompare and analyze statistical information to identify patterns, relationships and problems; organize and present findings to managementTrain assistants and other members of the team how to properly organize findings and read data collectedRefer to previous instances and findings to determine the ideal method for gathering dataContinuously identifies and pursues opportunities to improve systems in terms of reliability, usability, and performanceCollaborates across functional, company, and geographical boundaries and influences and negotiates to provide effective support and deliver resultsParticipates as data lead on projects of all sizesApplies principles, concepts and practices of the IT Service Management (ITSM), Project Management Life Cycle (PMLC), and Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC)Proactively enforces worldwide and local security policies to ensure IT information assets are protectedExpected Areas of CompetenceDemonstrated experience designing and delivering data-centric solutions, specifically where integration/consolidation/standardization of data from disparate sources was requiredExperience preparing business requirements and techno-functional design documentationAn understanding of multiple functional business areas and respective data (e.g. Sales and Distribution, Finance and Accounting, Supply Chain/Mfg, etc)Ability to work successfully as part of a geographically distributed and organizationally diverse teamStrong analytical / problem solving skillsConfidence in decision making and the ability to explain processes and/or choices in both simple and detailed termsStrong interpersonal, influencing and communication skills; appropriately share viewpoints and encourage the free exchange of information and opinionsStrong work planning skills; must be able to multitask effectivelyContinuous improvement and results-orientated; act with a sense of urgency and deliver results on-time and on-budgetHave a winning attitude and instill a passion for winning with other team members, an attitude which is demonstrated by a can do approachKnowledge of ITSM, PMLC, and SDLC conceptsEducation/E
