As a member of the Innovation Franchise finance team, the SFA will play a key role providing financial leadership, support, and analytics to the DePuy Sythes PCM (Pre-Clinical, Clinical, and Medical Affairs) Organization. They will work very closely with the business in the development and delivery of financial analytics and support of critical business strategies and decision making.

Role Objective: The Senior Financial Analyst will report to the Innovation Finance Manager and support the DePuy Synthes Franchise. This person will be responsible for preparing financial analysis, identifying solutions and opportunities for the business, and collaborating with multiple stakeholders to ensure financial decisions are aligned with the business strategy. The senior financial analyst will be expected to influence business partners with fact based financial data and must demonstrate business acumen through insights and business knowledge.

Major Responsibilities: • Partner closely with the PCM leaders to build and track all spend related to evidence generation studies to ensure that priority programs are appropriately funded. • Prepare financials and provide leadership support during business plan, forecast updates, and latest thinking. Communicate potential risks or opportunities for meeting expected results and propose recommendations and solutions. • Own all aspects of the month end closing process, (preparation of journal entries and accruals, providing commentary on actual versus budgeted results, headcount reporting, etc.). Provide insightful business performance commentary to key internal and external stakeholders. • Collaborate with the Innovation Finance team within DPS to develop, manage, and consolidate PCM financials across the platforms and support adhoc requests. • Partner with the Innovation Finance teams across Medical Device (Ethicon & CSS) and provide detailed financials related to Medical Operations support and investments. • Develop and implement new process improvements (i.e. enhanced reporting, analytics, etc.). • Ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley and GAAP requirements.

Qualifications

• A minimum of a BS/BA in Finance or Accounting is required. An MBA is preferred. • A minimum of 3 years of experience in Finance and Accounting or related business experience within J&J, medical devices, or related industry experience. • Candidate must be customer focused, have strong collaboration skills, and build strong partnerships with business partners. • Candidate must be able to navigate through complex information and clearly present the data to business partners of all levels, • Candidate must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills and have strong business acumen. • Demonstrate the ability to recommend and implement process improvements, work independently, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously is required. • Ability to work well in a cross-functional environment and build support across a complex set of stakeholders. • Individual must work well in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with all levels of the organization. • Advanced skills in MS Excel skills are required. (i.e. Pivot Tables, Formulas, & VLOOKUP functions) • Experience with TM1 and SAP is preferred.
